Glenn Murcutt International Architecture Masterclass
Architecture Residency Program, NSW, Australia
The Glenn Murcutt International Architecture Masterclass is a two-week residential studio in Australia that presents architects a rare opportunity to come together under the mentorship of Pritzker prize winner Glenn Murcutt, and other seminal award winning architects Richard Leplastrier, Peter Stutchbury and Brit Andresen. 32 participants from around the world are chosen every year to be part of this deep architectural immersion.
June '24 at the Masterclass was spent unlearning and learning again, drawing, seeing, feeling, working together to develop a sense of place, and create an architecture that belongs - without any use of computers. Visits were organised to some fantastic projects including the Boyd Education Centre at Riversdale, a masterpiece by Glenn, and Richard’s home at Lovett Bay, a place like no other. The Masterclass is an undeniably formative experience in the life of a young architect.
